The 32nd Annual Independence Day Parade will kick off at 9:30 a.m. on Sanibel. This year’s theme is a nod to the City of Sanibel's 50th Anniversary! The parade route will start out at Tarpon Bay Road and Periwinkle Way. The participants will travel east on Periwinkle and exit at Casa Ybel Road. After two years of postponements due to the pandemic, Sanibel and Captiva are ready to celebrate our nation’s birthday once again, including its famous parade and fireworks! Residents and visitors are invited to gather along Periwinkle Way early on July 4th (which is a Monday), as traffic on the street (and part of Casa Ybel Road) will be closed at 9am.
