Maintenance and repair activities, and community events, such as parades or street fairs may require the temporary closure of a County roadway in the Unincorporated Area. The City of Escondido is excited to bring back the free, professional fireworks show to celebrate Independence Day. We will not have our traditional large scale event, there will just be a fireworks show starting at 9 p.m. On Friday, July 4, 2025, the 2025 Fourth of July Celebration will take place in the District of Columbia. In addition to this event, there are other events in the city which will require extensive street closures that motorists should take into consideration. Temporary road closures will be in place Friday to accommodate Independence Day parades in La Selva Beach, Aptos and Boulder Creek. Drivers should expect short-term traffic delays in each area during the events. Salute to Service: United States Army Field Band-Market Street between 5th Street and 6th Street from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.-Lane Closure - North Traffic LANE on Market between 5th and 6th Streets from The Old Post Office Tower will be closed on July 4. Paddle boats at the Tidal Basin will not operate on July 4. Big Bus Tours will not operate on the Mall on July 4. East Potomac Golf Course will be open regular operating hours on July 4 (6:30 a.m. – 9 p.m.).
