4th of July in Telluride . Telluride is one of Colorado's most scenic towns and ski resorts. On July 4th, it holds the annual Telluride Foundation’s Rundola, a recreational foot race on the steep trail. Runners overcome 4,600 feet (1,500 m) with a 13% incline, gaining 548 m (1,810 ft) of elevation. (7 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday; Limbach Park, 151 Front Street, Monument; free) The Tri-Lakes area will host an array of festivities, including a fun run, parade, street fair and live music. Star Spangled Symphony on July 4th at 4:30 p.m. and fireworks at 9:15 p.m. the highlight of the evening is the Pikes Peak National Bank's 4th of July Star Spangled Fireworks Spectacular. Gates Patriotic music, old-fashioned train rides, free food, a cooling ‘spray in the park’ and, of course, fireworks are on tap Thursday as Pueblo area residents celebrate the Fourth of July and the United States’ 248th birthday. Over Steamboat Lake — Hahns Peak Roadhouse, 9:30 p.m. After the fireworks, the Hahns Peak Roadhouse (60880 Routt C.R. 129) will have a celebration featuring the Yer State Birds. The Hahns Peak Area Historical Society is responsible for the preservation and management of the Hahns Peak Schoolhouse, the Wither Cabin, and the Hahns Peak Museum and Pole Barn. Once a thriving gold mining camp, Hahns Peak is the oldest permanent settlement in northwest Colorado’s Routt County and served as the county seat from 1877 to 1912.
