Friendly reminder for those of y'all in the area, the Exchange Club of Lake Highlands 4th of July Parade and carnival are happening Friday along Church Road in front of the High School. Going back to at least the 60s, the parade is one of the neighborhood’s most beloved traditions. Much like another popular Lake Highlands event, Oktoberfest Dallas, the parade is organized by the Exchange Club, which has opened sign-ups to enter the parade. Exchange Club volunteers are preparing to host their annual Fourth of July parade, and generations of Lake Highlands families are expected to take part. The parade is our community’s slice of Americana, proving that Lake Highlands genuinely is a small town in the big city. Here’s a county-by-county list of events that are happening around the area. July 2, 4:30 pm – 9:30 pm (The rain date is July 3) This celebration features a 25-minute fireworks program over the Raritan Bay. The launch will have over 3,000 shells and effects, including glittering, strobe, and whistling, with various colors synchronized to a patriotic musical compilation produced by Garden State Fireworks. 4th of July Events in DFW See what’s happening in your neighborhood!
