OHIO The City of Marietta will have its annual parade starting at 10 a.m. and a community picnic to follow at Gold Star Park. Skyline Speedway in Athens will host its 5th Annual ‘Pete Smith & Steve Ungar Memorial’ FAST Sprint Car Special on July 3. The parade route begins at Roswell Street Baptist Church and continues to the Marietta Square for the 4th in the celebration, and fireworks. The 4th of July events include a parade, free live concerts, an arts and crafts show, food trucks, Kids Zone, carnival games, and the fireworks finale. Free breakfast and lunch will be served to children on weekdays throughout June and July at three Cobb County public libraries. Happy Helpings, Georgia’s Summer Food Service Program, will once again provide nutritious meals through a local partnership between Cobb County Public Library (CCPL) and Georgia Educational Resources Inc. (GERI). With both the Marietta City and Cobb County school districts on summer break, many families and children are facing food insecurity without the reliability of school meals. 📅 What’s Happening: Marietta City Schools will provide free breakfast and lunch through the Seamless Summer Option program from June 2 through July 25. All children under 18 qualify, along with adults over 18 who have state-defined mental or physical disabilities.
