The specially designed trophies were created for the Seward Celebration by local resident Tim Moravec. The Fourth of July Festival is Seward's most highly anticipated and attended event in Seward annually. Held alongside the renowned Mount Marathon Race, it's the perfect time to experience the vibrant energy and excitement of Seward. The Fourth of July falls on a Friday this year, so there will be plenty of gatherings and celebrations over the weekend. Head to the Delaney Park Strip (between E and I Street) for a day filled A: The Mount Marathon Race takes place on Friday, July 4th. The race schedule for 2025 is as follows: - Junior start — 9:00 AM - Women's start — 11:00 AM -Mini-Mount Marathon Race starts right after the last heat of the men's race as they leave the starting line. - Men's start — 2:00 PM Anchorage is gearing up for one of its busiest weekends, with Fourth of July celebrations at Delaney Park Strip, a baseball doubleheader, and events statewide from Seward to Fairbanks. Fairbanks and Valdez kick things off with colorful parades packed with floats and marching bands. Over in Seward and Juneau, they manage to pull off stunning fireworks once it gets dark enough. The day is filled with live music, games, and mouth-watering local food. The giant fireworks salute starts at 10:00 p.m. at Seward’s Plum Creek Park.
