Independence Day: Resurgence is the long-awaited sequel to the 1996 blockbuster I ndependence Day. As such, some of the cast from the original movie is returning for the second go around like Jeff Adam Baldwin as Major Mitchell, USAF, Area 51's commanding officer and thus a member of a governmental faction who are aware of the aliens' existence.
