When are the results released? The results are released about 12-16 weeks after the exam. Results for the February exam are usually posted in May, and results for the July exam are posted in November. Can I transfer my MBE scores from another jurisdiction? California does not accept MBE scores from other jurisdictions. The following information relates to the upcoming July 2025 California bar exam. The July 2025 bar exam will take place over two days, Tuesday, July 29, and Wednesday, July 30, in person at designated test sites across California. Note: On May 2, 2025, the California Supreme Court directed that the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE) be used for the multiple-choice section of the July 2025 California bar exam. *The California Bar Exam takes place on the last Tuesday & Wednesday of February and July. Results from the July 2025 bar exam are scheduled to be released through the Applicant Portal to applicants at 6:00 p.m. on November 7, 2025. California will not administer its newly developed bar exam in July, after the state’s Supreme Court on Friday ordered a return to the previous test following a disastrous rollout in February. Details, jurisdictions, deadlines, requirements, prep, and registration for the Uniform Bar Examination (UBE). The State Bar of California reported Monday that 55.9 percent of exam takers passed the California February 2025 General Bar Examination (GBX). In addition, the State Bar also announced that 76.5 percent of those who completed the one-day Attorneys' Examination passed. By understanding these timelines, you can estimate when your 2025 Bar Exam results — whether for February or July — will likely be released. Some jurisdictions, such as California, New York, and Texas, publicly post the names of those who pass the Bar Exam, while others, such as Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Massachusetts, do not. Usually, the California Committee of Bar Examiners releases the February California Bar Exam results by the end of May, and the July California Bar Exam results before Thanksgiving. California does not provide for admission on motion or reciprocity, rather it offers the California Bar Exam.
